Alternative singer-songwriter John Allred — known by his band name, Allred — is bidding farewell to the Beehive State with one last show at Provo’s Velour Live Music Gallery this weekend.

The artist has accepted three annual residencies in Las Vegas and plans to move there soon to become a full-time performer.

“I will be (focusing) more on live performing down there, rather than nationally touring,” Allred told the Daily Herald. “I’m excited to see how far I can take it in a bigger city. There are so many opportunities in Las Vegas.”

The singer, who is originally from Connecticut, said he has been feeling “very nostalgic and grateful” lately for the people he has met and the “incredible memories” he has made over his last 14 years in Utah.

Allred is set to perform his 14th anniversary concert with Cherish DeGraaf and Nick Whitesides of Double or Nothing on Saturday at 8 p.m. at Velour Live Music Gallery, 135 N. University Ave., Provo. Tickets to the seated show are available for $10 each at 24tix.com.

“This will be a more intimate show than I’ve put on in a long (time),” Allred said. “I’ll be playing many of these songs for the last time.”
