Heinz announces extension of Mayochup ‘saucy family’ with ‘Mayomust’ and ‘Mayocue’

By Kari Kenner - Daily Herald - | Mar 6, 2019

Last year condiment giant Heinz made waves and caused plenty of rolled eyes with the announcement that they would be releasing a new product called Mayochup.

Essentially a lesser version of fry sauce — a mayonnaise and ketchup-based condiment Utahns have been using to smother their fries and food for decades — it’s safe to say the creation wasn’t exceptionally well-received locally.

Whether you gave the sauce a try or not, it’s worth noting that Mayochup is no longer alone in the Heinz mayo hybrid lineup anymore. The company announced on Twitter Tuesday the addition of Mayomust and Mayocue, essentially mayonnaise combined with mustard and barbecue sauce respectively.

“Thanks to the fans of Mayochup, our saucy family is growing!” the company shared via Twitter. “Which flavor mashup are you most excited to dip into?”

The tweet had received 484 retweets and 2,120 likes with nearly 55,000 votes on personal preference between the trio of sauces as of the time of reporting, with replies spanning from hilarious alternative name ideas (“Mayotard,” “Maystard,” “Ketchonaise”) to people begging Heinz to stop. A few supportive followers could also be found, with others asking for more combos, such as mayo and Sriracha.

Regardless of where you stand in the saucy debate, the responses are quite entertaining.

The sauces are available now through online retailers, with a suggested retail price of $3.49.
