Ashley Hess releases full video of ‘American Idol’ audition song
ABC’s “American Idol” contestant Ashley Hess, a former Utah Valley University student who got her start as a singer in the Utah music scene, recently released a full music video version of her audition song on YouTube.
Judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie stopped Hess during her cover of Norah Jones’ “Don’t Know Why” in her “American Idol” audition to surround the piano as she sang and comment on her performance. Perry told Hess during the audition she could win the competition.
Hess’ audition video has more than 2 million views on YouTube.
The singer was most recently shown advancing to the Top 40 on the Hollywood Week episodes of “American Idol” earlier this week. The next episode airs Sunday at 7 p.m.
