It has now been 50 years since rock band the Grateful Dead first visited Utah and performed at the University of Utah Student Union Ballroom in Salt Lake City.
The Rise in Orem will celebrate the anniversary with an “Acoustic Grateful Dead Tribute” concert this week.
Chip Jenkins of Mokie and Scott Lookinland — son of Mike Lookinland, known for playing Bobby Brady on “The Brady Bunch” — of Grateful Dead tribute band The Pranksters will perform an acoustic set at the live studio recorded show.
The performance is set for Thursday with doors open at 7 p.m. at The Rise, 521 N. 1200 West, Orem. General admission tickets cost $10 each. More information is available by phone at (801) 637-2762 and online at theriseutah.com.
