"Signora Volpe" is streaming now on Acorn TV.

The new Acorn Original series “Signora Volpe” is, to say the least, enchanting. Emilia Fox stars as Sylvia Fox (coincidence?), a British spy who moves to Italy to start a new life.

Sylvia is a top spy. Her ex-husband is also a top spy, and they don’t exactly see eye to eye on things. After a somewhat difficult situation, spy-wise, she takes off to Italy for her niece’s wedding. But when things don’t go according to plan, Sylvia inserts herself into a tricky situation. After all, she is a spy — and a grade-A one at that.

Joining forces with the police, Sylvia manages to turn things around for her niece and her sister. In the process she decides to quit the spy business and settle in the quaint town of Panicale. But can she ever be free of the agency? After all, she is quite a valuable asset.

After buying an old house near her sister, Fox (Volpe in Italian) begins restoration. Unfortunately, the quiet life she seeks is just not in the cards. Every episode is a new mystery for Sylvia and Giovanni Riva (Giovanni Cirfiera), the local cop, to solve.

While navigating a life filled with new people and challenges, Sylvia learns more and more about herself. She is a good character for viewers to watch. She is clever, intelligent and in great shape. With all of her covert spy training, Fox is an asset to the community, even though her background is a mystery to the community.

As an off-screen note, Emilia Fox’s parents are actor Edward Fox actress Joanna David. This talented family includes a long list of cinematic notables, talk about a lot of talent.

This is a cute summer escape for viewers. It is streaming now on Acorn TV.
