"Physical" is streaming now on Apple TV+.

The third and final season of the hit Apple TV+ series “Physical” concludes with a satisfying ending. The season premiered Aug. 2 with the first two episodes of the 10-episode season.

Rose Byrne stars as Sheila Rubin, an exercise guru who is expanding her business. When we first met her she was a lonely, stressed wife with an eating disorder who discovered aerobics and soon made it her life’s work. As she gained popularity, her business grew. This season has Sheila reaching for the stars.

The time is the 1980s, when fitness was becoming a way of life for many. As Sheila gained more confidence and a better self-image, her enthusiasm for aerobics was contagious — and her family and friends soon discovered the endorphins she craved and got with her aerobics.

The season opens with Sheila growing her fitness empire, but with a new player in town. Zooey Deschanel joins the cast as Kelly, a TV actor who decides to make her mark in the fitness industry. Soon, Sheila sees Kelly as her chief rival and competition and vows to beat her in popularity and in the business industry. Who will win? Kelly can be ruthless, but so can Sheila.

With her goal of becoming a female-empowering figure in the country, Sheila takes on all challenges with gusto and determination. But her emotional struggles resurface. Throughout the season, she finds herself communicating with ghosts.

Not the ghosts of people who have passed away, but the ghosts of the people in her life. Her imagination brings them into her world and soon she can not focus on the real people as the imaginary ones are playing an important aspect for her emotionally.

Rory Scovel returns as Danny Rubin. Deirdre Friel returns as Greta, whose friendship and loyalty to Sheila play an important role in the final 10 episodes. Paul Sparks also returns as John Breem, the Mormon businessman who goes through struggles with his religion and his personal life. This storyline is also an important part of this season.

The show has two prior seasons, and when a popular show runs its course it often leaves viewers either wanting more, dissatisfied, or content. This one has a great ending and viewers will definitely be satisfied with the way the show ends. “Physical” is rated PG-MA for mature audiences.
