On Saturday, the Beck Brothers Band celebrate the release of their newest album with a show at The Hive Collaborative, a family-owned business that has been operating in Provo since 2022. The multi-use venue supports film viewing, documentary and film shooting, concerts, other live events and much more.
The Beck Brothers had a full house on Saturday night as family, friends and fans packed the facility. As people filled the venue, several first bought the band’s merch and changed into Beck Brother t-shirts even before hearing the new album.
TJ Gurn from Salt Lake City opened the night with his five-song acoustic set. His soon to be released “Airport Song” was a favorite as it captures his gravelly vocals in a wishful way, making the listener feel the anticipation of traveling somewhere new.
Soon, the Beck Brothers took the stage, the Utah-based folk-bluegrass band is a testament to the wide array of talent that is produced in the Beehive State. With their newest album, the band proved themselves a force to be reckoned as their technical playing kept the audience captivated while showing off their skill as musicians.
They played a combination of songs both on and off the album, even playing a cover of The Killers, while talking the importance of supporting the local music scene. Skyler Beck, who sings and plays the banjo, talked about how excited they were to finally have music out in the world for people to listen to.

They earned a standing ovation at the close of their show and the crowd chanted an enthusiastic “encore” before hearing one last song. They invited their opener, TJ, back up to join them in singing a cover of “Wagon Wheel” by Darius Rucker, which the crowd enthusiastically sang back.
With some more shows scheduled this summer and a few more in the fall, the Beck Brothers have a promising future and it will be exciting to watch them progress.
