This year's Chalk The Block For Charity Utah event will be held Thursday through Saturday, Aug. 24-26, 2023, at The Shops at Riverwoods in Provo.

From realism to fantasy, artists will be putting their expertise to pavement at the 12th Annual Chalk The Block For Charity Utah, held at The Shops at Riverwoods in Provo.

The event began Thursday morning and is ongoing, with art being completed by 3 p.m. Saturday. The public can come and watch artists as they create their works on the sidewalk.

“Magical Moments” is this year’s theme. Besides the chalk art, other activities include live entertainment, photo ops, giveaways, and deals/promotions from The Shops at Riverwoods shops and restaurants.

Chalk the Block For Charity Utah is partnering with Spectrum Academy to create this event, which will feature more than 100 artist teams, category winners from last year’s festival and professional featured artists.

“Donations received through this event will further our mission to help students reach their fullest potential academically, socially, and emotionally, leading to productive and successful futures,” said Amy Baker, development coordinator at Spectrum Academy, in a press release.

The festival is free to attend; however, attendees may donate to Spectrum Academy while attending the event.

The Shops at Riverwoods is located at 4801 N. University Ave. For those wanting more information, visit https://chalktheblockutah.org.
