"The Madame Blanc Mysteries" can be streamed on Acorn TV.She’s back, with some interesting mysteries as well as several humorous situations throughout the entire season. “The Madame Blanc Mysteries” returns to Acorn TV with Sally Lindsay starring alongside Steve Edge, Alex Gaumond, Sue Vincent, Sue Holderness, Tony Robinson and Robin Askwith. This season is filled with plenty of murders and mysteries as Jean White (Lindsay) has become a valuable asset to the local police with her extensive knowledge of antiquities that runs the gamut from paintings to coins to pottery as well as mythology and history.
Caron (Gaumond), the local policeman, relies on Jean to help solve the mysteries, and often Jean finds herself in mortal danger due to her inquisitiveness and desire to get to the bottom of the murders. While the murders and mysteries are front and center in the episodes, there are many humorous situations that weave themselves through the series.
First, there is the new romance between Jean and Dom (Edge) that began at the end of the last season. Now they are a full-fledged couple; however, no one knows. They decided to keep their relationship a secret for the time being, but as the episodes roll on that gets harder and harder. They want to be together and take every opportunity to do so; however, keeping their love life a secret is a bit complicated as they must come up with different stories to tell people when they are found together. Of course, it is easy in the beginning because everyone in their circle knows the two have been great friends from the time Jean arrived in town. But keeping their feelings hidden while being among friends is often humorous and provides some levity during the investigations.
And the rich couple of Judith and Jeremy (Holderness and Askwith) also add some lighthearted aspects to this season. In the beginning, this very loved-up couple who have been together for decades discover they are not legally married due to a glitch in their wedding. That little blip in their relationship adds some fun, but — spoiler alert — they do make it legal. This couple are two of a kind, two peas in a pod, two people with one soul. They belong together. True, they are nitwits, but they are loving nitwits and mean well.
Dom’s beloved car and Gloria’s (Vincent) beloved dog have some fun play during the season. And in the end, Uncle Patrick (Robinson) finds himself in a sticky situation due to his past encounter with the law. But as viewers know, this tight-knit community of Saint Victoire stands up for each other and always finds a way to make things right. Along with some locals, this group of ex-patriots from Great Britain always provides plenty of mystery and entertainment.
With seven episodes in this season, the cuteness between the various characters plays out in many ways while the murders and mysteries are being solved.
The final scene of the seventh episode of the season will have viewers smiling, clapping and thoroughly enjoying the characters, as the finale is something that touches the hearts of not only the characters but also the viewers.
“The Madame Blanc Mysteries” can be streamed on Acorn TV, part of the AMC networks, and can also be seen via Prime Video.
