The Hulu series “Paradise” has just dropped the second season, and they have confirmed it has been renewed for a third, and most likely final season.

Sterling K. Brown stars as Secret Service Agent Xavier Collins whose job is to protect the president. James Marsden is President Cal Bradford, a man who is conflicted about many things in life, however he is deeply committed to serving the country.

After a catastrophic event, several hand-picked people are relocated to a new city deep in a mountain in Colorado. This new city, called Paradise, was created under the direction of a woman whose code name is Sinatra. Sinatra (Julianne Nicholson) is a billionaire, tech-savvy, and a hard-nosed woman whose desire to control everything is at the heart of the first two seasons.

Paradise is supposed to be a place where people live a happy life in harmony, however things go awry and Collins is determined to get to the bottom of everything, and that includes what happened on “the outside” that necessitated the building of Paradise.

The town is strange. It was designed to resemble a normal small town, and everything is as it should be. Even the sky is controlled to simulate sunrise, daylight, evening, and night. After a while, people begin feeling at home and back to normal. But things are not as utopian as they are led to believe.

Krys Marshall is Robinson, an FBI agent who oversees a much of the security. When Collins approaches her with his theory about Sinatra, she begins to understand what is going on in the background of this fabricated place.

There are several key players in “Paradise”: Dr. Gabriela Torabi (Sarah Shahi), a psychiatrist who helped select the people chosen to be “saved” and transported to the city, James Collins (Percy Daggs IV), the president’s son who has a difficult relationship with his father but soon comes to understand him, Presley Collins (Aliyah Mastin), Xavier’s daughter, Jane Driscoll (Nicole Brydon Bloom), another Secret Service agent whose loyalties are questionable, and others who make up this unusual cast of characters. Just who is on the up-and-up, and who is plotting chaos?

Season 2 delves into life outside the cave. Above ground things are in a chaotic state. The people are confused and living their lives in an unnatural existence. Although the population has decreased immensely, there are still some survivors. Their fate is up in the air.

The series is intriguing, if not unsettling at times. In today’s world of upheaval, it strikes an emotional chord in viewers. There are several twists and turns throughout the episodes, with no spoilers in this article!

Brown is exceptional as the one man in Paradise who is on a mission to find out the truth about things that are not right. It’s not just what happened above ground that is questionable, but also what is happening in this cave that sets him on a quest taking him to many emotional levels.

The first season ended with a big cliff hanger, and the second does the same. With the two seasons available on Hulu, “Paradise” is a good show to binge. The third season will undoubtedly be released next year, and will, according to those who know, answer the questions viewers have that have been accumulating through the drama.

“We know what the end is, and it’s an end that would make it very difficult to make a Season 4 come afterward,” Executive Producer John Hoberg told “The Hollywood Reporter.” He confirmed they had a three-season plan from the beginning.

To say “Paradise” is addicting is an understatement. Each episode brings up more and more questions and conflicts. Once viewers begin this series, they will undoubtedly be hooked.

Starting at $4.32/week.
