The hit series “Death in Paradise,” currently on its 15th season, spun off two other shows: “Beyond Paradise” and “Return to Paradise.” These two shows have now returned for more intrigue and entertainment.

“Beyond Paradise” is now streaming Season 4. All the cast has returned with Kris Marshall anchoring the team as DI Humphrey Goodman. When an accident makes it impossible for Humphrey and his wife Martha (Sally Bretton) to continue to live on their boat, they move in with her mother Anne (Barbara Flynn), until they decide they really need to buy a house of their own. Even though Anne is wonderful, small tensions arise. Back at the police station, Margo (Felicity Montagu) continues to hold down the fort, so to speak, with her usual, or rather unusual characteristics. She is flamboyant, sometimes to the extreme.

DS Esther Williams (Zahra Ahmadi) and PC Kelby Hartford (Dylan Llewellyn) add their talents to the cases and the entire team works together as one unit. That is until Humphrey is ordered to cut one member of the team.

Throughout the season Humphrey struggles with this order. Who will he decide to let go?

And while he is dealing with that issue and everyone is solving the crimes in the quiet little town of Shipton Abbott, Anne begins her term on the town council overseeing the police. It’s a family affair, to the chagrin of Humphrey and the annoyance of Margo. Nevertheless, things eventually turn out for the better.

“Return to Paradise” is the Australian spinoff now on its second season. When the freshman season ended, DS Mackenzie Clarke (Anna Samson) was on her way back to England. It was what she had wanted since returning to Australia the year before.

But when she sees her old fiancé Glenn Strong (Tai Hara), she wonders if perhaps she should stick around. Does she still have feelings for him? And more importantly, does he still have feelings for her?

The situation with Glenn changes her desire to quickly return to England, and to everyone’s surprise, Mackenzie decides to stay for a little while. But her “little while” ends up being a lot longer than she expected. The underlying feelings between the two simmer throughout the season.

Both “Beyond Paradise” and “Return to Paradise” have been fan favorites.

The three shows have commonalities. They each have quirky detectives that manage to solve the most unconventional crimes. The teams work much the same way, but in very different locales. While “Death in Paradise” brings the tropical Caribbean atmosphere to viewers, “Beyond Paradise” takes viewers to a seaside British town and “Return to Paradise” is set in Dolphin Cove, a cozy little Australian town.

While the settings and characters all differ, the ingenuity of the cases make each of these series intriguing in their own way, with a variety of personal relationships that combine to create the popular “Paradise” franchise.

All seasons of these entertaining shows are available to stream on BritBox, via their own channel or as an additional subscription to Prime Video.

Starting at $4.32/week.
