Lions Club pavilion remodeled in Lindon City Park

LINDON — Lindon City Park started out as a gift from the Lions Club, who purchased Stanley Keetch’s almost eight-acre cow patch in the late 1940s or early ’50s for $8,000.

With the upper city park, the size has doubled to about 16 acres. The park expanded again when Lindon bought a half acre just north of Utah County Feed. Most residents won’t notice the addition because they’ve been using it as a park for years.

Another thing residents might not notice is that the Lions Club pavilion has been remodeled and renamed the Veterans’ Memorial Hall. At a dedication ceremony in May, Mayor Ellertson said the city would like to put up a plaque with the names of the Lions Club members and asked for help getting together the roster. The following are the names the city has; if you know of any other Lions Club members, please call City Hall at 785-5043 so they can be added to the list:

Non-charter members: Stanley Biggs, Newell Bracken, John Brandt, Thayne Brower, Ronald Brown, John Clark, Wayne Davis, James Durrant, Harlod Erickson, Jack Fisher, Gary Fryer, Don Gillies, Winston Gillies, JVar Gillman, Ramon Gray, Ray Green,
