Ramona Nielsen

KANAB, Utah Ã’ Ramona Brown Nielsen passed away peacefully Monday afternoon October 11th, 2004 after a difficult struggle with many different complications. Born August 9, 1922 in Springville, Utah to Mark and Jennie Leffler Brown.

She married Joe Nielsen November 19, 1940 in Springville, Utah. They loved panning gold and spent many years working the Golden Jubilee mine in Montana. She loved to go fishing and camping with her family on the deer hunt. She also loved going on long rides. The last few years she always looked forward to going on the bus rides and visiting with her dear friends from the Kanab Senior Center. Ramonas talent was enormous. She loved to knit and in her lifetime she kept all her family warm with the hundreds of sweaters, afghans, hats, and socks that she created. This truly was her passion and she shared it with so many that she loved.

Ramona is survived by her two children; Douglas (Joy) Nielsen and Kathy (Daniel) Mognett both of Kanab, Utah; five grand children Kriston, Stephen, Shelli, Shannon and Troy; sisters Marilyn (Bud) Cowley of Orem, Utah and Gailia (James) Anderson of Kanab; ten great-grand children and her first great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, her parents, and sister Beverly Brown.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 15th, 2004 at 12:00 noon at the Mosdell Mortuary 676 So. Hwy 89A, Kanab, Utah with a visitation from 11:00 to 11:45 am prior to services. Burial will be in the Kanab City Cemetery.
