SPORTS RMSB Memorial Day Tourny
Following the Spanish Fork Dons 5A State Championship, four of the six age division champions of the RMSB Memorial Day Tournament were from the Spanish Fork/Salem area. The four winning teams were: Spanish Fork Legends 8u, Spanish Fork Heat 11u, Spanish Fork Diamondbacks 12u, and the Salem Avalanche 13u.
Most of these teams had to battle through age pools of nearly 40 teams across the State. Congratulations to these great kids!
The SF Diamondbacks would like to thank the following for their generous support.
Their donations will help these boys prepare for a week of baseball this summer in Cooperstown, NY: Art City Dental, ATS Heavy Equipment School, Cafe Rio, Canyon View Medical Group, Chris Trapnell Orthodontics, Closet Technologies of Utah, Cold Stone, Dan’s Dash In, DHI Computing Service, Discovery Academy, Discovery Ranch, Five Star Trailers, Michael Eyre Dermatology, Pro-line Striping, RDJ Embroidery, Riverwoods Surgical Center, SAGS, Southwest Management, Trapnell Orthodontics, and Zinger Bats.
The Salem Avalanche was started by Dale Whiting and has been around since 1996. Six of the boys that were on the 5 A Champion Spanish Fork Team played for the first Salem Avalanche Team. (Colby Bird, Nelson Castleberry, Cory Grover, Seth Spainhower, Eric Whiting, and occasionally Brock Duke with coaches Dale Whiting, Phil Spainhower, and Russ Short)
