Payson Boys Basketball

By Candi Higley - Nebo Reporter - | Feb 21, 2007

In an exciting game on Friday, February 16, the Payson boys basketball team came away with a win over Lehi to bring them 14-6 and listed as number two in the Utah Valley Top Five.

The game was close during the first quarter with the Lions leading by just one point. But the Lions didn’t give the Pioneers a chance to take the lead and went on a 9-1 run and lead 36-28 at half-time.

Lehi outscored Payson during the third quarter but it was the last five minutes of the game that sealed the deal for Payson with multiple turnovers and out of bounds passes by Lehi and multiple fouls giving Payson 3 of 6 free throws points. Payson held on with some great plays including a barely up in two-point shot by Jordan Buys, and a great assist by Buys to Dustin Rowley for another two points.

Payson will host Orem on Wednesday, February 21st at 7:00 p.m.
