Larry Ernest O’Brien, age 67, died on June 21, 2011 after several years of declining health. He was born on December 28, 1943 in Higgins, Texas to Ernest Luellen and Rachel Ellen Glennie Cooley. He was adopted and raised by his loving parents Frank and LaRhea O’Brien.

Larry was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Navy. He continued his education in Junior College following High School. He was a machine worker for Pacific States Pipe Plant.

Larry was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held the position of High Priest. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting and fishing.

Larry is survived by his son, Scott E. Shelton, Son-In_Law: Jay Bartholomew, Sandy; Five sisters; Susan O’Brien Wing, Florence, OR; Ann (Clarence) Moon, Orem, UT, Betty Cummings, Midwest City, OK, Mae Hansen, Tooele, UT, Mary Jarvis, Spanish Fork, UT, brother; Grant (Sandra) Cooley, Salt Lake City, UT; Step Mother: Evelyn O’Brien, Spanish Fork; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James (Ellen) Cooley, Amarillo, TX, sister, Rosa Lee Cooley, Higgins, TX and a daughter, Teresa Jane O’Brien Bartholomew.

Family services and interment will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
