Lanny Tom
Norris
1948 ~ 2013
Our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather & friend, Lanny Tom Norris (64), passed away due to unexpected health complications on April 11, 2013.
He was born August 18, 1948 to Fletcher D & Coye Norris in Salt Lake City Utah.
He served in the British South Mission for the LDS church.
He married the love of his life, Sherry Jean Sellers, on December 16, 1972 in the Saint George Temple.
Lanny and his two brothers, Kim & Lex, started L.K.L drywall and supplies in 1978. Their strong work ethic has influenced many succeeding generations.
Lanny enjoyed 13 years of temple service and faithfully served with his sweetheart in the New York, New York North mission from 2008-2009.
Dad was always generous with his time, was outgoing, and never afraid to say “hi” to anyone. He loved to visit friends and family.
He loved to fish, hunt, horseback ride, shoot clays, go to antique gun shows, and work in that “damned orchard”. Dad had an unusual talent for needlepoint and loved to read. He never said no to chocolate whether it be cake, ice cream or candy.
Dad we love you. We’ll miss you, your funny jokes, your insightful fatherly advice, your love for life, and your commitment to the things which are important.
Lanny is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Jean, his siblings, Kim (Barbara) Norris, Lex Norris, & Shauna Norris King. He is also survived by his eight children, Daniel (Carrie) Norris, J.Russell (Chandee) Norris, Ginamarie (Chuck) Woodhouse, Nick (Stacey) Norris, Courtney (Marcie) Norris, Rachel (Anthony) Cardon, Zane (Jamey) Norris, Crystal (Chris) Partney, & 22 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fletcher & Coye, and his grandson, William Tom Norris.
We would like to thank the staff at Payson Hospital for their exceptional care, as well as the staff at Walker Funeral home for their professional care.
A viewing will be held Sunday, April 14, 2003, from 6-8pm at Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork, Utah.
A family service will be held later.
