Gloria Jean Erlene Johnson Forscutt

1943~2015

Gloria Jean Erlene Johnson Forscutt, 71, of Orem, Utah, passed away May 26, 2015 in Lewisville, Texas. She was born July 22, 1943 in Inglewood, California to Erland Vincent and Edith Martha Gunrud Johnson. She married Richard Lauren Forscutt Sr. June 21, 1975 in the Los Angeles, California LDS Temple.

During her early years she attended Kelso Elementary, Crozier Jr. High, and graduated from Inglewood High School in 1961. Gloria attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where she graduated with degrees in Homemaking and Elementary Education. For many years she worked as a school teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District where she taught the 3rd grade. She absolutely loved teaching children.

In 1977 she moved to Van Nuys, California where she raised her family. She kept a meticulously clean home that was beautifully decorated for every season with homemade toll painting and cross stitching decorations hobbies she loved to do during her free time. She was known for cooking delicious meals for family and friends. She also enjoyed scrapbooking, family history, letter writing, black and white movies (famous actors/actresses), and journal writing.

Gloria was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as Stake Relief Society President, Ward Relief Society President, and Ward Primary President callings our Heavenly Father knew would help to eliminate her shyness and greatly bless her family.

Gloria was a loving and devoted wife and nurturing mother who put the needs of everyone else above her own. She made sure her children had opportunities to discover their talents and abilities. She truly loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and did all she could to comfort everyone around her.

She is survived by her sons: Jay (Emily) Forscutt of Nephi, UT; Richard (Melinda) Forscutt Jr. of Flower Mound, Texas; Christian (Elizabeth) Forscutt of Ringgold, Georgia; 11 grandchildren; sisters Vicki (Woody) Woolwine, Darlene (David) Barker, Beverly (Robert) Shippen, Jacquelyn (Mark) Rowberry, Evonne; and brother Vincent. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Lauren Forscutt Sr. as well as her parents.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lakeview LDS Stake Center, 400 W. 1800 S. in Orem. Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Orem Cemetery, next to her eternal companion, Richard.
