Book helps kids make homemade goods
What do we like more than homemade goodies? When kids can make ’em themselves! The new book “Baking Class: 50 Fun Recipes Kids Will Love to Bake!” by Deanna F. Cook ($19, Storey Publishing) helps them do just that with cute ideas and step-by-step how-tos perfect for any aspiring chef. One idea for you to file away: personalized toast. Roll a piece of foil into a letter or shape a little smaller than the piece of bread. (Try your child’s first initial or a heart.) Place it in a toaster oven until brown, then carefully remove the foil to reveal the creation. Great for a birthday breakfast or back- to-school sandwich!
