Velour Live Music Gallery’s Winter Battle of the Bands will showcase some of the most talented and up-and-coming bands in the area beginning Monday, Dec. 9, and continuing all week until the winners are announced on Saturday, Dec. 14.
For years, the Velour Live Music Gallery has been propelling bands — such as previous Battle of the Band winners Imagine Dragons, Neon Trees, The Aces and The Backseat Lovers — to global notoriety. The Battle of the Bands is a great entertainment opportunity for everyone, from those who are serious music enthusiasts to those who simply love a good show.
During the week of Dec. 9 through 14, local bands will battle with original songs in front of a live and energetic audience. Each night, four bands will perform, with one being picked as the winner after being judged. Each judge is handpicked by Velour owner Corey Fox.
These judges will evaluate each band’s performance on things like musicianship, crowd engagement, stage presence and more. On Saturday, Dec. 14, the winners from the previous nights will battle it out on stage until the final winner is announced.
Velour Live Music Gallery is located at 135 N. University Ave. in Provo. Tickets for Battle of the Bands will be sold at the door each night at 7:30 p.m. for $12. The band lineup for each night of the Battle of the Bands is as follows.
- Monday, Dec. 9: Soul Dye, Sage Lane, Mom, Dad & Me, Lemonfern.
- Tuesday, Dec. 10: Care, Wilbere, Bonneville, Daniel’s Park.
- Wednesday, Dec. 11: Lonnefelt, Bat Brain, A Few Feet High, Sabrina Fair.
- Thursday, Dec. 12: Spirit Machines, CAYSN, Orcamind, Madfish.
- Friday, Dec. 13: Crewless, Just Khakis, PRKR, Garden Drive.
- Saturday, Dec. 14: Finals featuring the Monday through Friday winners.
