The full Utah Valley calendar of events is on L4, but here are three local events you should check out this week:
1. Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol
Covey Center for the Arts, Provo, Dec. 20-22, 7:30 p.m.
There are many places in the area to enjoy various performances of plays based on Charles Dickins’ classic story, “A Christmas Carol” — but the Covey Center for the Arts in Provo is giving the tale its own twist. The website describes it by saying: “A modern, funny, and moving retelling of the classic story of Scrooge…from Jacob Marley’s point of view. When Jacob Marley faces an eternity in chains for his greedy, selfish ways, he is offered one chance at redemption…if he can save his old pal Ebenezer Scrooge from the same fate. Against all odds, and despite the personal demon that is sent to torment him, this play illuminates the personal journey of Jacob Marley in a modern, funny, and moving retelling of the classic story of Scrooge.”
