1. Finding Peace: Free Musical Fireside
Scera Center for the Arts, Nov. 9, 7 p.m.
Combine election season with national turmoil and the stresses of upcoming holidays, and everyone could probably use a little more peace. Maybe the SCERA can help with it’s free fireside which it describes by saying: “Enjoy an uplifting evening featuring a mixture of music from traditional to modern Christian folk; to songs of courage and faith from golden age as well as contemporary musical theatre; and some fun, upbeat takes on familiar hymns, combined with spoken messages of love and peace. All denominations are welcome, and the event is perfect for families and church groups. Written and directed by Kathryn Laycock Little.”

It’s the final week for this delightful musical, so you better act fast if you want to check it out. The theater website describes it by saying: “A charming new musical based on the book that also inspired the beloved film Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris! When housekeeper Ada Harris discovers something breathtaking, she sets off on a journey that will change her life. From post-war London to magical Paris, Ada’s presence transforms others, yet she grapples with releasing her past. Can she allow her life to bloom?”
