The full Utah Valley calendar of events is on L4, but here are three local events you should check out this week:

1. We Hold These Truths: Celebrating 250 Years of American Independence

Noorda Center for the Performing Arts, Orem, April 20, 7 p.m.

Enjoy this collaborative celebration as one of many ways to honor the country’s 250-year heritage. The university website says: “We Hold These Truths is a powerful collaboration between the UVU Wind Symphony and UVU’s Center for Constitutional Studies, marking 250 years since the Declaration of Independence. Iconic works by Copland, Schuman, Sousa, and Stephenson come alive alongside live readings by actors portraying George Washington, Frederick Douglass, and Susan B. Anthony, with former Utah Governor Gary Herbert narrating Copland’s Lincoln Portrait. Together, music and words explore the enduring promises — and unfinished work — of liberty, equality, and democracy in America.”

2. Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival 2026

The venue website says: “Spring’s most extraordinary celebration is found at Ashton Gardens. Recognized as Utah’s premier spring festival, Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival transforms Lehi into an immersive landscape of color, artistry, and discovery. Blending floral beauty with memorable experiences, this beloved Utah tradition blooms brighter each year. Immerse yourself in the beauty of spring at Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival in Utah County! Over six weeks, more than 1 million flowers – including daffodils, hyacinths, tulips, poppies, and more – will bring the Ashton Gardens to life in an unforgettable display of color and design.
