Utah Valley Living: 3 events to check out this week (Aug. 22-30)

The full Utah Valley calendar of events is on L4, but here are three local events you should check out this week:

1. WHOSE LIVE ANYWAY?

Covey Center for the Arts, Provo, Aug. 27-28, 7:30 p.m.

Fans of improvisation won’t want to miss the opportunity to see some of the best in the business perform live in Provo. The venue website says: “The current cast members of the Emmy-nominated TV show Whose Line Is It Anyway? are proud to present their new improv tour: WHOSE LIVE ANYWAY? WHOSE LIVE ANYWAY? is 90 minutes of hilarious improvised comedy and song all based on audience suggestions. Cast members Ryan Stiles, Greg Proops, Jeff B. Davis, and Joel Murray will leave you gasping with the very witty scenes they invent before your eyes. Audience participation is key to the show so bring your suggestions and you might be asked to join the cast onstage! WHOSE LIVE ANYWAY? showcases some of the improv games made famous on the long – running TV show as well as some exciting new ones, featuring musical direction by Laura Hall.”

2. DIAMOND RIO

SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre, Orem, Aug. 24, 8 p.m.

Revisit some classic music with the popular and successful band Diamond Rio as it returns to Orem for a summer evening concert. The venue website says: “Originating as The Tennessee River Boys in the 80’s, the band evolved into Diamond Rio in 1989. The following year, they signed with Arista Nashville, and in 1991, with the release of ‘Meet in The Middle,’ became the first country music group in history to reach No. 1 with a debut single. The band is also known for their multi-week chart-topper ‘How Your Love Makes Me Feel,’ crossover hit ‘One More Day,’ as well as timeless hits ‘Beautiful Mess,’ ‘Unbelievable,’ ‘I Believe,’ and many more.”

3. 2026 Bolivian Fest: Utah’s Carnaval Boliviano

University Place Orem, Aug. 22, 3-9 p.m.

The cultural festivals continue at University Place in Orem with this weekend being a chance to celebrate Bolivian heritage. The venue website says: “Come join the party at the annual Bolivian Fest, Utah’s Carnaval Boliviano! For one day, be transported to the heart of South America and experience the vibrant colors, music, dances and taste of Bolivia. There will be a kids zone, crafts and plenty of activities for all ages. Not to mention entertainment on the main stage all day long!”
