1. Payson’s Golden Onion Days 2026
Various venues, Payson, Sept. 3-7, all day
It’s not time to wrap up the annual city celebrations just yet as Payson is gearing up for Golden Onion Days. The city website says: “This annual celebration was first held in 1929 as an opportunity for residents and former residents to renew old friendships and make new ones. Originally known as the Onion Harvest and Homecoming, the event honored Payson’s status as an agricultural district and outstanding producer of onions. The celebration was later renamed Payson City Golden Onion Days, and that is the name that remains to this day. Golden Onion Days is typically held each year on Labor Day weekend and includes events such as concerts, carnival, baby contest, car show, 5K and 10K races, parade, fireworks, food, and merchandise vendors.”

2. Festival Latinoamericano 2026

Utah County Historic Courthouse, Provo, Sept. 4-7, 6-10 p.m.
Head to Provo for this week’s big cultural festival and a chance to celebrate Latino heritage. The festival website says: “What began as a small neighborhood gathering in 2001 has grown into one of Utah’s most anticipated cultural events. Festival Latinoamericano was founded to create a space where the Latin American community could share their heritage with neighbors and friends. Over the years, the festival has become a cornerstone of Provo’s cultural calendar, drawing tens of thousands of visitors every Labor Day weekend to celebrate with food, music, dance, and art from across Latin America.”

3. Heather Headley with the Utah Valley Symphony
SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre, Orem, Aug. 29, 8 p.m.
Get ready to be wowed by the vocal abilities of Heather Headley — who will be singing with the amazing talents of the Utah Valley Symphony. That should make for a spectacular showcase you won’t want to miss. The event website says: “Tony and Grammy Award-winning Broadway, recording and television star, accompanied by the Utah Valley Symphony, and with special guests Rex Kocherhans and the Debra Bonner Unity Gospel Choir.
