The full Utah Valley calendar of events is on L4, but here are three local events you should check out this week:
1. BYU Winter Choral Showcase
BYU Music Building, Feb. 4, 7:30 p.m.
Enjoy beautiful voices raised in song as some of the most talented choirs at BYU gather for their winter showcase. The university website says: “Known for their polished performances and versatility of genre and style, the university’s four auditioned choirs — Men’s Chorus, Women’s Chorus, Concert Choir, and BYU Singers — present a varied program of classical and modern choral works.”
For more information, go to onstage.byu.edu.
2. Lindon Country Hoedown
Lindon Community Center, Feb. 7, 6:30-8 p.m.
Get up and get dancing — cowboy boots not required, although they certainly would fit in — as Lindon hosts a party to celebrate in classic Utah style. The city website says: “Dust off yer boots and join Lindon Parks & Recreation for a free, family friendly classic Country Hoedown! Enjoy line dancing led by some of Lindon’s best country dancers, games, crafts, and tasty treats for all ages! Don’t miss out on helping our Little Miss Lindon contestants as they complete a service project in preparation for their pageant.”

3. A Peter Rabbit Tale
SCERA Center for the Arts, Jan. 31-Feb. 13, 7 p.m.
Children (and adults too) can enjoy a delightful show about appreciating what you have. The theater website says: “Based on the stories of Beatrix Potter, Peter Rabbit doesn’t think life as a rabbit is all it’s cracked up to be in this spirited children’s musical. SCERA’s Theatre for Young Audiences presents one-hour plays and musicals based on children’s literature. The shows are performed by a cast of adult actors, and are the perfect way to introduce children to the magic of live theatre. And parents…with a witty script, charming characters and catchy music, you’ll have a great time, too!”
