Dale Eugene McKenna departed this life on July 10, 2020, surrounded by loved ones in Orem, Utah. Dale was born May 2, 1951 in Yankton, South Dakota to Howard Eugene McKenna and Ruth Annabelle Stortvedt. Raised in Saratoga, California, he was the third of seven children.

LaJean Marie Thornton Deuel, 88, of Payson, Utah, passed away on July 11, 2020 in her home. LaJean was born on March 14, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Sidney & Grace Nielson Thornton. She graduated from American Fork High School in 1950.

Geraldine White Lewis (Gerry), of Cedar Hills, Utah, passed away July 10, 2020. She was born September 11, 1926 in Salt Lake City, the daughter of Walter Ray White and Merle White White. She attended Ensign Grade School, Bryant Junior High, and East High School, graduating in 1943. She returned to University of Utah after many years, studying fine arts, and graduated with Bachelor of Arts degree in 1985.

Vernon and VaNita were married March 3, 1950 in the Logan Temple. Vernon is a former Cy Young Award pitcher and 1960 World Series winner in the Pittsburgh Pirate organization. He also enjoyed his time coaching for both BYU and a few minor league teams, golfing, gardening, woodworking, and reading.

VaNita’s focus has been on supporting, loving and serving her family and friends. She also enjoys music, especially the violin and organ, handiwork, and being a long time member of her literary club, Kamitas. Their much loved posterity includes: 5 sons (Veldon,

Veryl, Vance, Vaughn, Varlin), 1 daughter (VaLynda), 31 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
