ATV Adventures: 11th Annual Salt Lake Off-Road Expo: Getting bigger and better
- The accessories just keep coming. I have more than one friend who have put snow tracks on their UTVs.
- The machines and their tires just keep getting bigger.
- Every year, new machines are on display. The Segway line of OHVs was introduced last year, and I have seen some on the trails.
This two-day event brings together off-Road Enthusiasts and promotes local off-road businesses. Get the latest information on new products, great deals, and learn about off-road land use. It is all here at the Salt Lake Off-Road Expo.
This event gets bigger and better every year. This year, the expo will fill the entire floor of the Mountain America Exposition Center in Sandy. That is 243,000 feet of exhibit space. As for the better, more vendors with new products and more people will have space at the show. The dates for the show will be Feb. 27 -28.
Those planning this year’s expo avoided competing with any other event to allow more parking. The Real does not have a game, and there are no other events at the Mountain America Exposition Center during the expo weekend. To further enhance parking availability, the lot directly west of the center will offer free parking. A bus will shuttle visitors to the center on a frequent schedule.
This is the place to go to see the latest in off-road accessories. It is also where you can cool off a little bit of the cabin fever you have been building up. I know of several ATV jamborees that will offer information and incentives to join their events this year. Liz and Charlie’s RV and ATV Park will be there from Marysvale, and the Big Mountain Lodge in Ferron will have a booth promoting their facilities.
Entrance fees are $14 for a one-day ticket, which is good for one entry in the drawing. $20 for both days gets you two tickets for the drawing. More tickets can be purchased at the SLOREX booth. Kids under 12 are free. Over $40,000 in prizes is being given away. You must be over 18 to win. There are three giveaway times – Friday night at 6 p.m., Saturday at noon, and 6 p.m. The expo opens from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday.
If you haven’t been to an expo before, there are plenty of reasons to go. There will be manufacturers, local and national, for Jeep, UTV, ATV, and Motorcycle aftermarket parts. You will find local dealers, shops, and clubs for your off-roading flavor. Vendors from supporting industries, including camping supplies, outdoor clothing, and trailers, will be on hand to answer questions about all your outdoor needs.
Come to find out where to go adventuring and how to make sure we are allowed back next time we want to check out this beautiful state. There are presentations and panels on stage about Off-Roading adventures and knowledgeable people sharing tips and tricks, classes for the DNR Trail Host program, and more. There will be free balloons for the kids, a free face painting booth, a free photo booth, a free radio-controlled (RC) course, and a free rock wall to climb. You might also throw an axe at the Social Axe Throwing booth.
I noticed that one innovative product will be back this year. Look for the booth promoting “Insta-Privy.” It is an easy-to-pack porta-potty for doing business in the backwoods. If you want to see a very funny commercial for this product, go to YouTube and do a search for “Insta-Privy” commercial.
You will find a booth promoting the Beaver County ATV Jamboree. I have attended this one for several years, and it is one of my favorites. The trails on the east side of Beaver in the Tushar Mountains contrast with the ones in the Mineral Mountains on the west to make a great jamboree.
The expo is the place to go for the 2026 ATV product lines. They are getting better every year, and dealers will have them on display at the show. They will also be on hand to answer your questions. You will see machines from all the major manufacturers, as well as some you may not have heard of before. I find a new line every year.
I love to see the new lines of accessories I find at the expo. You can go to slorex.com and click on the vendors tab. Scroll through the vendors and click on any of them. You will be taken to the vendor’s website to research their products.
If you want to see a fun truck, stop by the Trail Mater Off-Road Recovery booth. See Trail Mater and hear some wild recovery stories. When you go, take plenty of water, keep the rubber side down, and enjoy the show.
