The full Utah Valley calendar of events is on L4, but here are three local events you should check out this week:
1. 2026 Utah Lake Festival
Utah Lake State Park, Provo, May 30, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Everyone in Utah Valley is impacted in some way by Utah Lake, whether it is creating beautiful views, being used for recreation or having to be navigated around. Celebrate the lake with the annual festival on May 30. The state park website says: “The Utah Lake Festival is a great opportunity for the public to learn about what is being done to improve the lake, promote recreational activities, and allow the attendees to enjoy a beautiful Saturday at one of Utah’s greatest natural resources. This year, we are partnering with the Provo Farmers Market, who will have their first market of the summer season at the festival.”

2. Baby Animal Festival
Thanksgiving Point, Lehi, May 23-30, 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
May might be drawing to a close but there is still time to enjoy seeing the delightful baby animals at Thanksgiving Point. The website says: “Celebrate spring with Baby Animal Festival and meet new baby lambs, goat kids, piglets, chicks, and more. We will be celebrating all month long with baby animal related programs, scavenger hunts, yard games, and plenty of hands-on discovery. Jump on bounce houses of all sizes and enjoy exclusive festival treats like Baby Chick Cupcakes, Blue Moo ice cream, and more!”

3. Lauren Alaina
SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre, Orem, May 25, 8 p.m.
Kickoff the summer at SCERA with an evening of beautiful country music on Memorial Day as Lauren Alaina comes to town. The venue website says: “Grand Ole Opry member and Big Loud Records powerhouse Lauren Alaina is unveiling a new musical chapter with the 2025 releases of ‘Those Kind of Women,’ ‘Household’ and ‘All My Exes (feat. Chase Matthew)’ – out now. Signaling more new music on the horizon, these releases are the first tastes of new music since her six-song 2023 EP Unlocked. Alaina has earned three chart-topping hits: RIAA Platinum-certified ‘Road Less Traveled,’ Diamond ‘What Ifs’ with her childhood friend Kane Brown, and 3X Platinum ‘ONE BEER’ with labelmate HARDY + Devin Dawson. With the Brown duet, Alaina became the only solo country female artist in history to receive the RIAA’s Diamond certification on a single.”
