Actor opens restaurant in Utah

By The Associated Press - | Aug 17, 2007

SANDY — Vincent D’Onofrio, movie actor and star of TV’s “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” is talking about ribs, the tasty kind.

A Rib City restaurant, co-owned with his sister and brother-in-law, opens Saturday in this Salt Lake City suburb.

Amid ladders and boxes, D’Onofrio was in town this week to check on the restaurant before the grand opening.

His sister, Toni, was working for the Chili’s Grill & Bar chain when she met her husband, Ron Jorgensen, a Utah native. The couple settled in American Fork, where their first Rib City franchise is located.

D’Onofrio said he decided to invest because of his sister’s long career in the food industry and the success of her other Rib City.

As for his career in TV and on the big screen, D’Onofrio said he takes nothing for granted.

“I still consider myself an actor trying to get a job,” he said. “I never sought to be famous or a star. I just keeping doing what I do.”
