Alpine’s tax, tax, tax plan
Oh thank heavens for the Colorado voters who voted 2 to 1 against higher taxes for education last week. I had almost lost hope in the American people. Our politicians have been tax-tax-taxing and spend-spend-spending until we are now all broke.
I am going to lose my house next year (this is the third year I haven’t been able to pay the excessive property taxes). Yet Alpine School District wants to tax tax tax some more and spend spend and spend some more!
More more more! More grand palaces for the kids. Orem High School was recently knocked down (it was built long after I was born) and replaced with a very expensive grandiose castle. I guess it has a plaque with the names of the ASD board members like other schools have (so the kids can worship them, I guess).
My stepmother lives in a house built during World War II. Certainly not earthquake-proof. Most houses aren’t. She can’t afford the taxes even for that house. Yet ASD wants millions from us to earthquake-proof the schools. Probably not even possible. The rest of us can die, I guess (and die broke).
