Beware of scam
I received a phone call, supposedly from my grandson. He said he had been in an accident and his nose was broken making it difficult to speak clearly.
When he said he was in the Dominican Republic I suspected fraud, but I kept on listening to him. He said he needed bail money to be released from jail and would pay me back as soon as he returned home. I declined to send money.
I was sure that it was a scam because I had read a warning about it in the AARP Magazine. Also, I have a close friend who had been a scam victim about a year ago.
After I hung up, the phone rang again and I picked it up without speaking. I heard a man coaching the boy about how he could be more convincing.
Beware that this is going on.
