Jarring note
I have had the opportunity to perform in some musical performances throughout my life. I have felt the joy that comes when the musical performers touch the heart of those performing and those in the audience.
My wife and I really enjoyed the musical presentations that were given on “The Sing-Off.” We especially appreciated each of the numbers done by Vocal Point. We want them to know that they are a very clean-cut group, and in our judgment they were very professional. Thanks so much, Vocal Point performers, for your dedication, and your musical performances.
My wife and I however were very negatively struck by the undesirable language used by the judges. Some of the words used by the judges in expressing their opinions of the performances hit ‘”raw chords” to us. The judges are professional in their lives and those, mostly young people, who listened and watched the performances look up to these judges and are affected by their examples.
In our judgment, the descriptive, improper words the judges used would say to the young people that it’s OK to use such language. It is not OK to use such language. The judges should be censured and told to use proper language.
This reflects on NBC for allowing such language to be used. Something needs to be done to stop this offensive language.
