Golfing bargain

Nov 23, 2011

I am an old man having recently celebrated my 90th birthday, but I am in excellent health, working at least part of every day in gainful employment. Recently I asked my primary care doctor what I could do to improve my health.

He said to continue my medications, eat more fruits and vegetables and play at least three rounds of golf per week.

I have played Cedar Hills many times and it is an excellent golf course.

However, I recently had a minor stroke and spent one day in a local hospital.

My bill came to $6,600. This was partly paid by you folks when you pay for Medicare.

I pay about $20 for a nine-hole round at Cedar Hills. I think you are getting a whole lot more for your money when you pay for the upkeep of that golf course than when you pay for my medical bills.
