Poll Responses

By Staff | Jan 20, 2013

Recently we asked the following question at the Daily Herald website, www.heraldextra.com: “Would you support a new state law that limits the unfettered actions of towing companies?” Here are some of the responses:

Absolutely! We were on the freeway and our car was having problems so we pulled off at University Parkway in Orem and coasted into the parking lot across from Walmart. We walked across the street to Walmart to get something we thought would fix our car. When we came back it had been towed. We had been gone for less then an hour. We called the tow company, waited for three hours and then got our car back. It was still broke down and had to be taken to a repair shop.

There should be some exceptions — find out why before jumping the gun.

Probably not. Yes, there is a lot of towing because there are a lot individuals who don’t believe rules should apply to them. All these people howling parked where they shouldn’t have, and are trying to blame it on someone else through a whole variety of reasons. The point seems to be if the excuse is good enough, then its okay to circumvent the rights of business owners and property owners. Frightening.

• Stacey Davis, Orem

Starting at $4.32/week.
