I have sent the following letter to our County Commissioners Anderson, Ellertson, and Witney:

Please prevent further growth of alcohol use in Utah County, including its use at large gatherings.

The Tough Mudder competition has apparently threatened not to return next year if beer is not permitted this year (Daily Herald, July 30). That is possibly a bluff. Call it. If they really don’t return, so be it, despite the guesstimated $700,000 economic impact.

It is time to stop catering to the profit motive. The camel’s neck is already in the tent.
