Springville welcomes Love’s Travel Stop and McDonald’s

By Candi Higley - Daily Herald - | Feb 8, 2014

It was an exciting day for members of the Springville City Council and Chamber of Commerce as they welcomed Love’s Travel Stop, Chester’s International and McDonald’s with a ribbon cutting at the new store Friday.

“We are very excited to have Love’s here in Springville,” Mayor Wilford Clyde said. “It has taken a long time to get them here, but I think they have a good location and are at a pinch point place between Spanish Fork and Provo. They are very professional and have a first-class facility. Love’s is an excellent business to have in Springville and we hope that will bring more businesses to the area.”

The Springville Love’s location is the third in Utah, and district manager Shawn Baker said that Love’s is excited to be in Springville.

“We have a really nice facility and we really go the extra mile,” Baker said. “Our facility is clean, nice and roomy and is a one-stop shop. All of our managers and employees are local and are dedicated to providing the ‘Clean Places, Friendly Faces’ that Love’s is known for. And we do a good job at it.”

Love’s is a 24/7 operation that features two restaurants — Chester’s International and McDonald’s — as well as gourmet coffee, fountain drinks, fresh fruit, name-brand snacks, travel items, gift merchandise and more. There are also 70 parking spaces for professional truck drivers and a Love’s Truck Tire Care center.

Love’s leases part of the building to McDonald’s.

“McDonald’s helps bring customers in for us and we do the same for them,” Baker said. “We help each other and it is a good relationship.”

Rob Sparrer is the owner/operator of the new McDonald’s.

“We have made this a family business and my sister and I are second generation operators,” Sparrer said. “We have an incredible community that we hired 60 locals from and they make a great crew.”

Miquel Vargas is the manager of McDonald’s and Dustin Larson is the area supervisor.

“We are excited you are here,” Clyde said. “You know you’ve arrived when you have two McDonald’s in your city. We know you will be a successful restaurant and we thank you for investing in Springville.”

Clyde said having new businesses come to Springville is exciting and benefits the community.

“We have a Holiday Inn Express that will be coming in to Springville on the north exit,” Clyde said. “We also have a 260-unit mixed-use development that will be coming in southwest of Love’s, which will start out with multifamily units and eventually single family units. It is a nice development and will be a great addition to Springville.”

Starting at $4.32/week.
