The Utah County Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking Darryl Torres, last known to live in the American Fork area, for three warrants for his arrest.

Torres’s most serious crime took place on Apr. 18, 2011 in American Fork. Torres, 28, was with a group of friends in American Fork after they’d reportedly driven to Salt Lake City to purchase and deal heroin. One of his friends used some heroin while driving back and once they got to Lehi, they’d realized he overdosed. They drove to the American Fork Fire Department to get medical attention.

While they were driving, Torres reportedly took six balloons of heroin from his friend who’d overdosed. Once they got to the fire department, Torres ran around the corner and hid the six balloons of heroin in his crotch so they would not be found.

When he was asked to be searched, officers did not report finding anything. They also searched the vehicle they all arrived in and reportedly found syringes, a burnt spoon and a balloon of heroin.

After he was arrested and was at the jail, Torres was given the opportunity to hand over anything illegal; however, he denied having anything. Police reports state he was then strip searched, though he was uncooperative. The officer on duty then reportedly found the balloons of heroin hidden in his crotch.

Torres was booked and has outstanding charges from this incident: one second-degree felony charge of possession of a controlled substance, one second-degree felony of obstructing justice, and one class A misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Torres’s court proceedings went as would be expected until December 2014 when he failed to report to his probation officer after his sentencing in January 2014. He’s been a wanted fugitive since.

Torres has two other warrants outstanding for his arrest. The first is for one third-degree felony charge of possession of a controlled substance, one class A misdemeanor charge for possession of drug paraphernalia, one class A misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance, one class B misdemeanor charge of retail theft, one class B misdemeanor charge of no proof of insurance, one calss C misdemeanor charge of operating a vehicle without a license, and one class C misdemeanor charge of having an expired registration.

His third warrant is for one class A misdemeanor charge of obstructing justice.

Torres has been described as being 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing about 190 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair.
