By Kurt Hanson daily Herald - | Mar 25, 2015

PAYSON — A man was booked Tuesday afternoon into the Utah County Jail on suspicion of raping and sexually abusing a preteen girl.

The victim and her mother went to the Children’s Justice Center earlier in the day to speak with officers about sexual assaults that had reportedly occurred over the period of almost a year. While the interview was taking place a suspect, Denim Robinson, was taken by officers to the police station to be questioned.

According to police reports, Robinson said he sexually abused the victim several times. He reportedly abused the girl when she was home alone.

The first incident of abuse occurred in June 2014 at the victim’s home in Payson.

On several occasions, Robinson, 38, reportedly had the victim take off her clothes so he could inappropriately touch her and attempt to rape her.

The most recent instance of sexual abuse reportedly occurred Monday. Robinson was asked by officers how many times he’d inappropriately touched the victim, and he reportedly said he lost count, it happened too often.

The interviewing officer asked Robinson if he would have continued such acts had he not been caught. Robinson reportedly said yes.

The victim’s interview confirmed what Robinson shared in his interview, police reports state.

Robinson was booked into the Utah County Jail on suspicion of the following charges: one first-degree felony charge for rape of a child, two first-degree felony charges for sodomy on a child, and six first-degree felony charges for aggravated sexual abuse of a child.

Starting at $4.32/week.
