In its first three days, the new Revere Health campus in Salem saw more than a 1,000 patients, and the crowds aren’t expected to stop anytime soon.

The new location doesn’t have waiting rooms, will have a virtually paperless process for patients and is projected to see more than 150,000 patients every year.

The clinic, the largest commercial development in Salem’s history, had its private ribbon cutting Friday afternoon in front of local government leaders, health care professionals and community members.

“Us mayors in south county try to express we have life south of Provo,” said Salem Mayor Randy Brailsford. “Now we have healthy life.”

The $30 million project was about eight years in the making and provides infrastructure for the area.

“This just represents, for us, the community coming together,” said Scott Barlow, Revere Health’s CEO.

Construction began in January of 2015. About a quarter of Revere Health’s Utah County patients live south of Springville.

Services offered at the Salem location will include an ambulatory surgical center, imaging center, laboratory, family medicine and pharmacy, among others. There will be medical offices for departments like orthopedics, internal medicine, family medicine, urology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology and another suite that will route between other specialties.

There’s also a connected building that will house an overnight, extended care facility with 16 beds for post-surgical patients and short-term rehabilitation.

Speakers said the building’s layout presents a new way of thinking about healthcare. By looking at statistics and trends, the clinic can predict how many patients it will see and staff accordingly, like adding additional staff on Mondays and after holidays when crowds are typically more robust.

“This is really walking into the future for our patients,” said Troy Lunceford, a physician on the board of directors.

Inside, the building is decorated in warm colors and historical pictures from the community. An Icelandic wall embraces the heritage of the area, and trees on the campus were chosen by the local mayors.

The campus will host a community open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 555 W. SR 164 in Salem. There will be self-guided tours, bounce houses, giveaways, wellness checks and more.

Starting at $4.32/week.
