Lloyd: Trump could be a good president

Trump could be a good president

We came from England in 1964 after we joined the LDS Church (in 1963). I am 81; my husband Malcolm is 86. We had lived in a socialist country for many years and we were fed up with 50 percent of Mac’s paycheck being taken by the government, even before he brought it home. We came to Utah. It was a joy to be here and we loved it. We knew things were not perfect in the USA, but we really enjoyed life here.

Then when Obama became president it started to get bad. We didn’t mind him being black; we just didn’t like what he started implementing. Obamacare for one — the lies he told about it and look how that has turned out in 2016. Then Hillary Clinton came on the scene as Secretary of State and things started to become a lot worse, such as taking money from foreign countries, the Benghazi incident (which was terrible) and many other problems she did not resolve. Many people think the sun shines out of her, but not us. Someone told me she didn’t like Hillary Clinton but she would still vote for her! Not us; we think she and the Clinton Foundation are corrupt. She should not be the president.

We are now very close to Election Day, and every day the problems deepen. This election is between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Trump is being attacked by the Clinton campaign and the media. Many of the media, including CBS and CNN, are blasting him. We enjoy Fox News, as I am sure many of you do, and they have a great team and give it to us straight.

Next week, we will be voting in one of the biggest elections of our time. Do we want a liar and a cheat who will continue doing the same thing Obama has done for eight years? Or will we vote for Trump who, from what he tells us, will bring jobs to this country and secure the border with a wall. By the way, Hillary Clinton wants to keep the border open and reduce the military. Trump wants to restore the military and make America great again.

Trump has been a good businessman and has written over 15 books which were all best-sellers, but his first book, considered a classic, has become the most popular book of all time.

He could be a great president, only time will tell. Only the people can solve the outcome of this.

We must vote the right way. If we voted for someone besides Trump, it will be a vote for Clinton.
