American Fork's Belle Jewel competes during the Knockout Round on the hit NBC show "The Voice," in an episode which aired Tuesday night. Jewel barely lost out in this round, however, she was picked up in what host Carson Daley described as possibly the fastest steal in "Knockout" history by Miley Cyrus. That move advanced Jewel to the live playoff round, where she will compete against 19 other singers for "The Voice" crown.

Belle Jewel and Christian Cuevas (seated at rear) compete during the "Knockout Round" on "The Voice." Jewel sang the Crowded House song "Don't Dream It's Over."

After Alicia Keys picked Christian Cuevas over Utah County-born singer Belle Jewel on “The Voice,” Carson Daly told the celebrities, “Coaches, let me remind you, Belle is available to steal.”

And immediately — in less than a second — Miley Cyrus pressed the button, and everybody, including Keys, applauded.

“That may have been the fastest steal in Knockout history,” Daly said as Cyrus ran up to embrace Jewel.

In this episode of the “What Say Ye” podcast, Belle Jewel talks about that moment and her experiences so far on NBC’s singing competition show.

“I would say that keeping secrets has been the hardest part of this experience,” Jewel says in the interview. “You disappear for six months as a musician and everyone thinks you’re done with music … I’m doing music every single day, but no one knows.”
