doTerra leadership broke ground Wednesday on its new office building, part of a multiphase corporate campus expansion project for the Pleasant Grove essential oils company.

In addition to the new office building just southeast of doTerra’s headquarters, this third phase of growth will include the construction of a new medical clinic and an expansion of the company’s manufacturing facility. In addition, doTerra is building a fulfillment center just west of the corporate campus that will sit on the southwest corner of the Pleasant Grove Boulevard freeway interchange. These additions are expected to create 950 jobs in Utah over the next three years, and bring the company’s total office, manufacturing and fulfillment space to just under 1 million square feet.

“Expanding our campus provides additional opportunities for research and growth so we can continue to lead the way in sourcing, testing, manufacturing and distributing essential oils and other healthy living products for customers around the world,” said David Stirling, founding executive, chairman and CEO of doTerra.

Set to be completed in fall 2018, the new 67,055-square-foot office building will provide office space to seat an additional 400 employees as well as plans for a childcare center that will serve up to 84 students daily, including infants, toddlers and young children.

The new medical clinic is slated for completion in spring 2019, and David Hill, doTerra co-founder and chief medical officer, said he is very excited about this part of the company’s expansion. The clinic will initially offer resources for doTerra employees and wellness advocates, with plans to eventually serve the community. The building will boast five medical doctors with a focus on integrative care.

“This facility will help us continue to discover the value of essential oils and integrate them into the medical community,” Hill said. “We’ll have an opportunity to do that in a way that’s never been done before.”

Additionally, as part of its expansion plans, doTerra will more than double the size of its current manufacturing facility, bringing its total square footage from nearly 125,000 square feet to almost 324,000 square feet. Any doTerra product distilled or sold throughout the world will come through this facility, lending more opportunities for research and development.

Finally, the new 270,000-square-foot fulfillment center will reside on 32 acres and house nearly 250 new employees. Once completed, this facility will serve doTerra’s global customer base and act as a hub to support doTerra fulfillment centers throughout the world.

“This is such a great accomplishment,” said Mia Love, a congresswoman and very vocal doTerra customer, on Wednesday, adding she was even more impressed because it is occurring “in spite of what’s happening in Washington.”

Starting at $4.32/week.
