American Fork man arrested after reportedly sending graphic photos to multiple businesses
Provo police arrested an American Fork man Monday after the man reportedly sent pictures of his genitals to multiple businesses across Utah.
Ryan Fotheringham, 40, was arrested on suspicion of three counts of the third-degree felony of distributing pornographic material and on a misdemeanor of attempting to distribute pornographic material.
Fotheringham reportedly called the Standard Opticals in Lehi, Provo and St. George, along with Blue Mountain Insurance in Provo in October to say he had lost jewelry and then preceded to email the businesses photos of his genitals with jewelry, according to a police report.
He also reportedly went into the Utah First Credit Union in Provo and later called to say he lost a debit card. The employee who answered the phone found a condom where Fotheringham was reportedly sitting and he asked the employee on the phone if they found anything else. He also asked for the employee’s email so he could send in a picture of his driver’s license. Fotheringham was reportedly shown on camera entering the business.
Fotheringham reportedly told police he didn’t remember sending any of the pictures or making any of the calls due to an mental illness. A computer was taken from his home, which had the email address the photos came from.
