Springville man arrested for reportedly sexually exploiting underage girls

Springville police arrested an 18-year-old Springville man after he reportedly sexually exploited two underage girls.

Josue Lopez-Hernandez was arrested on suspicion of two second-degree felonies of sexual exploitation of a minor and three counts of the second-degree felony of sexual abuse of a child. He was also arrested on suspicion of three counts of the third-degree felony of enticing a minor by internet or text and is on an ICE hold.

A 13-year-old girl told police she had met Lopez-Hernandez twice when he was 17 and once when he was 18, according to a police report. He reportedly used Snapchat to communicate with the girl and repeatedly asked for sex and inappropriate pictures.

When he was 17, he reportedly kissed the girl and fondled her over and under clothing. When he was 18, he did similar activity, according to the report.

Lopez-Hernandez reportedly denied to police he had been involved with the girl. He was questioned again about his relationship with the girl, where he reportedly told police he had met her and touched her inappropriately.

A forensic extraction of his phone found two pornographic pictures, according to the report. He reportedly told police the pictures on his phone was of a girl who said she was 17 years old. The girl, who is 17, told police she met Lopez-Hernandez online and he had asked her for nude photos after he had turned 18, according to the report.
