George Washington Museum organizers call for artists

By Karissa Neely daily Herald - | Jul 26, 2018

Organizers behind the George Washington Museum of American History invite local artists, crafters, musicians, historians, writers, technologists and members of the community to learn how they can be a part of the museum’s vision.

Eric Dowdle, painter and founder of the museum, will hold a celebration at 7 p.m. Friday at 35 N. 400 East, Lindon. The event is free, but interested parties should reserve a spot at https://gwmuseum.org. Doors open at 6 p.m. Friday.

Dowdle will introduce the vision of the museum that evening and describe how artists, musicians, historians, curators, writers, technologists and others can be involved in making that vision happen. Paul Cardall, musician and chief music composer for the museum, will perform that evening. In addition, history experts portraying historical figures will also give the event a flavor of the nation’s founding.

“I encourage everyone to get involved as much as possible. This will be a significant landmark for Utah as a leader not only in business, education, and standard of living. It will also bring the art and culture readily available in the eastern United States westward to our great state,” Herbert said in a press release.
