Two Nebo School District employees arrested in May for reportedly sexually abusing students have been charged in court for the acts.

Adrian Villar and Dylan Dewey have been charged this month. Both men were placed on administrative leave by the Nebo School District following their arrests.

Villar, a 59-year-old Santaquin man, has been charged with two counts of the first-degree felony of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and one count of the class A misdemeanor of lewdness involving a child.

He was charged in 4th District Court on Friday.

Villar reportedly sexually abused a child in a bathroom on Feb. 14, 2017, after a child went into a bathroom alone, according to court documents. Security footage reportedly showed Villar entering the bathroom. Inside, Villar reportedly exposed his genitals to the student and grabbed the student’s arm to touch his genitals.

Another child told police Villar had pulled down the child’s pants and touched his genitals inside a school shed.

Villar told police he knew both boys, but denied touching them, according to a police report.

Villar was working at Sierra Bonita Elementary School in Spanish Fork at the time of the incidents and was working at Santaquin Elementary School at the time of his arrest.

Dylan Dewey, a 34-year-old Salem man, was also arrested in May for reportedly sexually abusing a student.

Dewey, a counselor, driver’s education teacher and assistant girls’ basketball coach at Spanish Fork High School was charged July 12 with the second-degree felony of forcible sexual abuse, or, in the alternative, the class A misdemeanor of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

In April, Dewey reportedly met and had a relationship with a student from a neighboring high school, according to court documents. They reportedly kissed in his office, communicated on text and Snapchat and reportedly showed her his underwear via Facetime.

The student also told police the two had driven to Mapleton, where they talked, kissed and Dewey had reportedly removed her clothing and touched her, according to a police report. The student told police she’d missed school to be with Dewey and he had offered to excuse her absences, according to the report.

Dewey reportedly told the student to not tell anyone about their relationship. He reportedly denied to police that he had removed her clothing or inappropriately touched her.

Records showed that both Villar and Dewey had been warned about breaking district policy prior to their arrests in May, and a former Sierra Bonita Elementary School teacher said she warned the district two years ago about Villar being alone in the bathroom with a student.
