The Lehi City Library has moved operations into a temporary location.

For the time being, patrons can find them inside the World Sports Partners Lehi Facility at 870 N. 100 East, Unit 110, a block north of State Street and sitting adjacent to I-15.

City officials say the Lehi library will still provide the core programs, such as Story Time, Wiggle Worms and more.

Though most of the programming will take place at the temporary location, some programs will be held in the Lehi City Broadbent Community Room, which is across the street from the original library location at 128 N. 100 East.

Members and those interested in available programs will want to check the library’s main website and its social media for programming updates with location and times.

The short-term move comes as construction is underway on Lehi’s new 60,000-square-foot Civic Center facility, the Daily Herald previously reported.

Once completed, it will house new council chambers, a community room, administrative offices and a new library, offering increased space and enhancements.

At a groundbreaking ceremony in April, city leaders said the former library building is over 60 years old and becoming difficult to maintain.

The new library will boast 25,000 square feet, with added space for programming, support staff, quiet study rooms and a recording studio/conference room for making podcasts and videos, just to name a few of the enhancements.

City officials anticipate the new facility will open sometime in mid- to late 2025. In the meantime, in the smaller temporary location, members and visitors may notice smaller program sizes due to space availability. The separate quiet area is not available, but two laptops are still available for use.

Some collections may be held in storage; patrons can request a collection for pickup. Parking is limited, but curbside pickup is available in the back of the building.

“There will be an adjustment with moving to a new location. Our patrons are amazing and they always adapt,” Lehi Library Director Kristi Seely said in a statement emailed to the Daily Herald.

The temporary location was chosen as an option because it offered a cost-effective solution and allowed for the length of time needed, Lehi City officials said.

In its temporary home, the Lehi City Library will be open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be closed on the last Saturday of the month and on Sundays.

Patrons are asked to enter from the east side of the parking lot and exit from the west side of the parking lot.
