Marsha was confident she’d be able to buy presents for her family this year, but, as fate would have it, her finances have taken a tumble.

The single mother of two – a boy that’s almost 5 years old and a 2-year-old little girl – has endured some setbacks that could make purchasing gifts more challenging than she intended.

Marsha said she was recently involved in a car accident that has left her without means for transportation.

“Due to having to file bankruptcy after my divorce, I can’t get auto loans, and I am trying to get as much money as I can to buy a car,” Marsha said.

United Way of Utah County’s Sub for Santa program wants to make sure families and children wake up to find presents under the tree on Christmas morning.

With winter setting in, Marsha said both of her children are in need of proper winter apparel to keep them warm.

She has asked for snow boots, a snow jacket and long socks for her son and boots, underwear and tights for her daughter as well as a variety of toys and books for each child.

“Anything to help contribute or give something to my kids this year would be a Christmas miracle,” Marsha said.

According to United Way of Utah County, there is a greater demand for help this year, and it is seeking donations from those looking to help fund these holiday wishes. Those interested in being part of making a Christmas wish come true can visit unitedwayuc.org.
