Sadie and Trevor want to provide a special Christmas for their 3-year-old son, but several recent troubles are making that a difficult task this year. In fact, they have experienced job loss, financial difficulties and a close family member’s serious health problems over the past few months. The couple would love to have help from the Sub for Santa program in keeping the holiday special for their little boy.

Recently, Sadie lost her job, which has caused the family to now be living paycheck to paycheck with no extra left each month. Additionally, Sadie’s father has been severely ill and hospitalized for two months, including losing his leg to sepsis. It has been a very unfortunate past few months for the family, Sadie said.

In addition to the family’s young son, Bridger, the couple is expecting another baby. “We just recently found out about this baby and now I’m really worried about expenses for Christmas,” Sadie said.

Bridger is in need of some new shirts, pants and socks. He likes books about monsters, trucks and Legos. He would love to receive gifts of action figure toys, Minecraft toys or Legos. His favorite colors are blue, green and orange. The family would be very grateful to the volunteer Santas that are matched with him through the program.

“This program has helped us tremendously in the past and I think this year it would really help us give our boy a good Christmas,” Sadie said.

United Way of Utah County invites all to get involved this holiday season. If you would like to be part of this annual holiday initiative and help bring the Christmas spirit to those in need, visit subforsanta.org.
